Winter months on the farm bring some different farming tasks that must be done. And, although we are not cutting and baling hay during the winter, the coldest months on the farm certainly do not mean a vacation from farming.
We provide our livestock with essential winter care. This includes having adequate baleage on hand, as animals need more food in the winter to maintain sufficient body temperatures. In addition to the feed, livestock requires lots of fresh, clean water, which means we must monitor the water sources to ensure they do not freeze on the very cold days.
Our open sided stalls and GAP approved feeding facilities, as well as tree wind breaks and hoop barns help us provide suitable shelters so our animals are safe, comfortable and healthy.
